Ground Rules for Public Hearings: 1) Please turn “off” cellphones or put them on “vibrate.” Take any calls outside of the auditorium. 2) No signs inside the auditorium. 3) The hearing is for testimony only, not questions or presentations (although you can submit material for the record). 4) The meeting facilitator will first call on people to speak who have signed up previously or signed up at the door….and then, if there is time, open up for people to offer testimony who have not previously testified. 5) If you would like to offer testimony: when your name is called, please approach the microphone, say and spell your name and give your testimony. Please speak loudly and clearly into the microphone so everyone can hear you. 6) Don’t approach the microphone or speak out of turn. 7) Don’t interrupt when others are speaking by calling out, yelling, hissing, loud clapping, booing or personal attacks. Please be respectful. 8) Each person will be allowed 5-minutes to offer testimony. The facilitator will keep the time. Only one opportunity will be given to offer testimony. You cannot “donate” or offer your unused time to another speaker. 9) Once you have finished your comment/testimony, please return to your seat. 10) Keep your testimony focused on the topic (permit application) at hand. We will politely interrupt you if we feel you are “getting off topic”. 11) The session’s host/facilitator reserves the right to deny anyone the opportunity to offer testimony if that person does not follow the preceding rules or is determined to be a “threat” to meeting decorum or participants’ safety. Facilitator also reserves the right to have people escorted from session if they do not follow the rules or acts in a threatening manner.
